NEWS from AROUND the GOURD
Look what the Gourd Artist Guild has been up
to...
The Gourd Artist’s Guild is a large group of Gourd heads from all
around the world, who chat together sharing ideas, techniques, and
friendship through John Stacy's Patch Pal e-mail list. One hundred and
twelve Gourd artists from three countries; United States, Australia,
and Canada have united to create the
WORLD'S FIRST GOURDPATCH QUILT. Each of the artists applied their
particular artistic style to a flat 4"x4" gourd tile. Lynette Dawson
and daughter, Margaret Schroeder, are stitching it together.
Framework has been constructed and the project is well under way. The
Quilt will make its debut on April 3-4, 2004 at the Indiana Gourd Show
in Kokomo, Indiana. The next showing for the quilt will be the 2004
Gourd
Artists Gathering on May 21-23, 2004 in Cherokee, NC. To learn more
about
the quilt, its creation, read artists profile, view artists tiles, see
the assembly and descriptions go to http://www.thegourdquilt.com.
This site will be updated periodically so visit often. New pictures and
